Job Summary

Own the technical strategy for how Airbnb’s community engages across digital channels like chat, SMS/WhatsApp messaging, omnichannel routing, and voice/CTI. Partner with Community Support, Trust, and Policy stakeholders to translate needs into a multi-year roadmap and deliver scalable, resilient solutions on the CRM platform. Lead architecture/design reviews, drive initiatives from proof-of-concept through launch and iteration, and mentor engineers across the CRM organization.

Key Responsibilities

•Architect and hands-on build digital channel engagement solutions (chat, messaging, omnichannel routing, and agent tooling) integrated with the broader CRM platform.
•Act as the subject-matter expert for digital engagement technologies, advising engineering and business stakeholders on capabilities, constraints, and tradeoffs.
•Partner with Product and Community Support Operations/Trust teams to translate engagement strategy and ambiguous needs into a multi-year technical roadmap.
•Lead technical design reviews and embed engineering best practices across design, code review, and production operations.
•Drive initiatives through the full lifecycle—proof-of-concept, launch, experimentation, and iteration based on engagement metrics.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 180,000 - 225,000

Key Requirements

•10+ years of relevant engineering experience with deep, hands-on expertise in digital channel engagement platforms (messaging, chat, omnichannel routing, and CTI/voice integrations, including Salesforce Digital Engagement/Service Cloud or comparable).
•Proven experience building and shipping engagement or CRM products end-to-end from concept and architecture through launch and iteration.
•Strong, current hands-on coding ability and experience with architectural patterns for large-scale, high-availability, customer-facing systems.
•Experience integrating CRM/engagement platforms via APIs, event-driven architecture, and CTI/telephony integrations.
•Ability to translate ambiguous business and product requirements into scalable technical designs and a coherent multi-year roadmap.
