Key Responsibilities

•Design, build, operate, and optimize TikTok’s global network across backbone, data centers, public cloud, and Edge/CDN.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams (compute, storage, database, recommendation systems) to drive network innovation and evolution.
•Work with external vendors and ISPs for device and carrier selection, and perform testing and verification.
•Contribute to hyperscale data-center networking solutions using network architecture, SDN, network virtualization, and switch hardware/software co-design.
•Participate in TikTok’s global network on-call rotation; travel may be required 15%–30% of the time.

Key Requirements

•Good understanding of network protocols including TCP/IP, DHCP, BGP, OSPF/IS-IS, and MPLS-related technologies.
•Good understanding of network monitoring protocols and tools such as SNMP, sFlow/netflow, and telemetry.
•Familiar with data center network architecture such as CLOS.
•Hands-on experience with major network devices from vendors including Cisco, Arista, Juniper, H3C, Huawei, and others.
•Ability to participate in TikTok’s global network on-call rotation with strong communication and written skills.
