Key Responsibilities

  • •Design, build, operate, and optimize TikTok’s global network across backbone, data centers, public cloud, and Edge/CDN.
  • •Collaborate with cross-functional teams (compute, storage, database, recommendation systems) to drive network innovation and evolution.
  • •Work with external vendors and ISPs for device and carrier selection, and perform testing and verification.
  • •Contribute to hyperscale data-center networking solutions using network architecture, SDN, network virtualization, and switch hardware/software co-design.
  • •Participate in TikTok’s global network on-call rotation; travel may be required 15%–30% of the time.
Travel: Medium travel

Key Requirements

  • •Good understanding of network protocols including TCP/IP, DHCP, BGP, OSPF/IS-IS, and MPLS-related technologies.
  • •Good understanding of network monitoring protocols and tools such as SNMP, sFlow/netflow, and telemetry.
  • •Familiar with data center network architecture such as CLOS.
  • •Hands-on experience with major network devices from vendors including Cisco, Arista, Juniper, H3C, Huawei, and others.
  • •Ability to participate in TikTok’s global network on-call rotation with strong communication and written skills.
