Key Responsibilities

  • •Carry out Engineering department duties including design, research, prototyping, engineering documentation, estimating, and process improvement.
  • •Modify existing products or processes to increase efficiency or improve performance.
  • •Define mechanical scope, guide mechanical design, and coordinate fabrication, installation, and startup of assigned projects as needed.
  • •Specify and release vendor requests for materials and machinery components, and support machine check-out through documentation of changes, product testing, and safety checklists.
  • •Assist with testing and validation for mechanical designs and systems, including engineering calculations and review of technical plans, drawings, and specifications.

Key Requirements

  • •Associates degree in Mechanical and/or Electrical Design or a BS in engineering.
  • •10+ years’ experience in mechanical design for production machinery, including assemblies and whole machines.
  • •Extensive machine design and drafting knowledge using 2D/3D CAD systems.
  • •Experience with flexible packaging design (at Amcor or a similar flexible packaging company).
  • •Expert knowledge of machine shop practices, finishes, and geometric tolerancing.
