Job Summary

Lead end-to-end data science efforts, from data assembly and feature engineering to model development, validation and deployment, delivering business-focused insights across claims and professional services operations. Collaborate with data engineers, AI engineers, and stakeholders to build production-ready models and analytics tools, translate findings into actionable recommendations, and drive data governance and impact.

Job Function: Data Science & Machine Learning

Key Responsibilities

•Assemble, cleanse, and model large, complex datasets from across the Group using the Davies medallion architecture on the Microsoft data platform (Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI).
•Design, build, and validate statistical and machine learning models for business-focused use cases including claims triage, fraud detection, outcome prediction, and operational efficiency optimisation.
•Collect and structure data through business analysis, study design, and automated pipelines to identify valuable signals in large datasets.
•Build and maintain analytical tools and reporting solutions that provide stakeholders with actionable insights into key business metrics such as operational efficiency, claims outcomes, and customer experience.
•Create clear dashboards and presentations that translate complex data findings into simple, actionable recommendations for business, product, and executive audiences.

Key Requirements

•Proficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis, statistics, and machine learning with libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch or equivalent.
•Hands-on experience with the Microsoft data platform (Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI) for data ingestion, transformation, and visualization.
•Experience designing and evaluating machine learning models (classification, regression, clustering, NLP) and deploying them in production or near-production environments.
•Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases, data warehouses, and medallion architecture data lake patterns.
•Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex data findings to senior leadership and translate data science concepts into business requirements.
