Job Summary

Own plumbing engineering work for projects within WSP’s Property & Buildings team. Determine methods to collect and analyze field and design data, perform inspections, and develop plans, specifications, cost estimates, and phasing. Use advanced modeling and design standards to create future-ready systems for installation and functioning, while maintaining QA/QC, preparing technical reports, and coordinating with architects, owners, and other disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

•Collect, compile, and analyze site and design data from plans, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to support project development, design, and construction.
•Perform plumbing engineering work, conduct research and inspections, and install plumbing, fire protection/suppression, and fluid flow systems to applicable standards and permits.
•Develop construction/installation plans, specifications, cost estimates, safety and phasing plans, and coordinate infrastructure layout updates with stakeholders.
•Apply advanced technology and modeling to meet design requirements, perform load calculations, and ensure proper equipment/system installation and functioning.
•Prepare technical reports and visualizations, maintain QA/QC standards, implement site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs), and coordinate with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, architects, and clients.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering, or closely related discipline.
•5 to 7 years of relevant post-education experience in engineering with plumbing and mechanical design.
•Proficiency in plumbing and mechanical engineering principles and design/build applications to project work.
•Experience with building and infrastructure planning, design, and construction management across rehabilitation and new design projects.
•Working knowledge of relevant plumbing/mechanical system laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
