Key Responsibilities

  • •Act as the primary tax partner for CIB Europe senior stakeholders across Coverage, Product, COO, Finance, Legal, Risk and Compliance.
  • •Provide pragmatic tax advice across CIB activities including cross-border transactions, client structures, financing, markets activity, and operating model considerations.
  • •Translate technical tax issues into clear options, risks, and recommendations to support front-to-back decision-making.
  • •Shape tax input into material change programmes, new products, business initiatives, and process/operating model changes affecting CIB Europe.
  • •Maintain oversight of tax risk for CIB Europe, including identifying, assessing, documenting, escalating, and progressing remediation, while setting direction and priorities for the tax partnering team and managing two direct reports.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold CTA, ACA, ACCA or a local equivalent certification, or have equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • •Bring corporate and international tax experience in financial services, including multi-jurisdiction European considerations.
  • •Demonstrate in-house tax experience within a financial services institution, or a blend of in-house and financial-services tax experience from a Big Four firm.
  • •Show a strong understanding of tax risk management, governance, and control frameworks in an audit/regulatory environment.
  • •Influence senior stakeholders with clear, actionable advice across business and control functions.
