Key Responsibilities

  • •Set technical direction and make pragmatic architecture decisions for data engineering initiatives, including design reviews and reusable patterns for ingestion, transformation, orchestration, modeling, testing, deployment, and observability.
  • •Lead and coach a small team of data engineers, supporting feedback, goal-setting, mentoring, career development, hiring, onboarding, performance management, and capability planning.
  • •Deliver data engineering solutions end-to-end (discovery/design through implementation and production support) and translate business needs into robust data products and plans.
  • •Operate and support production data pipelines and integrations within agreed service levels, including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
  • •Improve data reliability, data quality (testing/validation/reconciliation/lineage/documentation), and scalability/performance/cost efficiency; convert recurring operational issues into engineering improvements.

Key Requirements

  • •Significant data engineering experience, including leading technical delivery or mentoring engineers.
  • •Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms including Databricks and/or Snowflake, and production experience with dbt.
  • •Ability to design and implement layered data platform architecture (e.g., medallion patterns) and build dimensional/analytical data products.
  • •Strong Python and SQL skills for writing, testing, debugging, and optimizing production data pipelines.
  • •Practical experience with Terraform (or similar infrastructure-as-code) and building/operating ETL/ELT processes with monitoring and observability.
