Key Responsibilities

  • •Own end-to-end day-to-day accounting operations, including full-cycle AP/AR, GL accrual accounting, vendor mapping, and driving the monthly close calendar faster.
  • •Handle loan lifecycle accounting from lock to settlement, including funding reconciliations, warehouse line activity, gain-on-sale, and investor settlement.
  • •Execute and document internal controls designed for SOC 1 Type II reporting and partner with the CFO on IT audit design, evidence automation, and audit readiness.
  • •Build state-level and loan-level production metrics and ad hoc analyses in an AI-native reporting layer to deliver board- and lender-ready outputs.
  • •Identify manual work to eliminate and automate processes by configuring integrations, defining system requirements, and testing automation across GL, LOS, warehouse funding, and command center systems.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 205,000 - 235,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •5–10 years of progressive experience in operational mortgage or structured credit with loan-level work (e.g., private credit funds, whole-loan trading/aggregation, or mortgage originator capital markets/accounting).
  • •Strong command of FASB codification for mortgages, including ASC 310/320/860, ASC 820/825, ASC 815, and CECL, with judgment to shore up reporting gaps.
  • •Big 4 foundation is strong but not required; demonstrate rigor and a top-university record matters.
  • •Proven experience owning a close, an audit, or a system implementation—not just supporting one.
  • •Comfort with ambiguity and a builder’s temperament: high agency, willingness to grind, and interest in learning from leadership.
