Key Responsibilities

  • •Act as a data engineer for Economy ML, setting standards for batch vs streaming feature pipelines, table design, observability, and documentation.
  • •Build and deploy hands-on data systems powering content recommendation, search, and personalization across Economy product surfaces.
  • •Partner with Product, Data Science, and ML engineering to prioritize data initiatives aligned with business goals and reduce tech debt in datasets and pipelines.
  • •Collaborate with other DE/ML engineers on schema design, client logging, experimentation data, and feature pipelines to raise the overall bar for data work.
  • •Work with partner and platform teams across Roblox using a community-first approach and research industry-leading practices for product impact.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years of experience as a product-focused data systems engineer, preferably with search, recommendation, advertising, or personalization systems.
  • •Experience designing logging schemas and optimizing data processing pipelines.
  • •Experience with real-time stream processing and batch processing using Flink, Spark, Kafka, or Druid.
  • •Familiarity with feature stores and other machine learning infrastructure.
  • •Ability to act as a technical leader initiating and facilitating challenging technical solutions.
