Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and own the Littoral Strike Craft design to meet customer, regulatory, and programme requirements.
  • •Manage and guide multidisciplinary engineering teams through design development, reviews, and product maturity milestones (PDR/CDR).
  • •Act as the primary interface with Classification Societies, managing approvals, submissions, and compliance activities.
  • •Support programme delivery with engineering planning, resource management, risk mitigation, reporting, and cost forecasting/bid preparation.
  • •Recruit, develop, and manage engineering resources and lead subcontractor engagement, including make/buy decisions and performance management.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 70,000

Key Requirements

  • •Strong engineering leadership experience delivering multi-layered maritime, naval, defence, or new-build programmes.
  • •Knowledge of marine classification rules and approval processes, including experience working with Classification Societies.
  • •Proven ability to lead design reviews (PDR/CDR), systems integration, and product lifecycle management from concept through detailed design.
  • •Experience managing engineering teams, suppliers, and stakeholders across multiple disciplines and locations.
  • •Working knowledge of engineering design and analysis tools such as NX, Maxsurf, or equivalent, and ability to achieve Chartered Engineer chartership in the short term.
