Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as Project Engineer for traffic engineering projects for MDOT and municipal projects.
  • •Involved from project inception to completion in the management of design and construction of traffic projects.
  • •Support and provide technical expertise to cross-functional teams of engineers, planners, and scientific professionals to execute project work, including budgets, tracking hours and expenses, task completion, cost and quantities of materials/equipment/labor, permit applications, construction, compliance documentation, and regulatory and technical analysis memos.
  • •Design of traffic control devices including quantities, cost estimates, and specifications for transportation construction bid packages for federal, state and local agencies.
  • •Conduct investigations and inspections of site conditions, roadways, intersections, signage, signals, pavement markings, and transportation corridors to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, and permits.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline.
  • •P.E. license
  • •7-10 years of relevant post education experience in engineering and prior traffic design experience.
  • •Knowledge of traffic engineering and planning software (HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, ArcGIS).
  • •Proficient and extensive knowledge of traffic engineering principles, practices, process, and design/build related to traffic control equipment, capacity and operational analysis, project management, and related communications systems.
