Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide development management advice to support a key strategic client responsible for the Strategic Road Network.
  • •Review planning application documentation for development proposals affecting the Strategic Road Network.
  • •Conduct technical reviews of transport assessments and related documents, interrogating assumptions and conveying outcomes in technical notes.
  • •Assist with overall task delivery, meeting deadlines, managing your workload and supporting juniors, and contributing to budget preparation and monitoring.
  • •Mentor junior staff and build/maintain client relationships through stakeholder engagement and effective communication.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Spatial/Urban Planning, or a related field.
  • •Membership of a professional body such as CIHT, TPS, or CILT.
  • •Awareness/knowledge of UK transport planning principles, policies, and regulations.
  • •Experience in transport modelling (local, and ideally strategic) and critical review of transport assessments, calculations, assumptions, and supporting information.
  • •Mentoring and developing junior staff, with strong team working and excellent written, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
