Job Summary

Oversee and continuously improve divisional accounting activities, including internal controls, reconciliations, and analytical review of financial statements to ensure GAAP compliance. Lead monthly and quarterly financial/operational reviews of subsidiaries, support M&A activities (journal entries, balance sheet blending, inventory), and assist with year-end audit work and external auditor deliverables. Train subsidiary accounting staff, collaborate with yard management and leadership, and help prepare the annual budget and tax audit support.

Key Responsibilities

•Oversee, review, and improve the overall accounting functions of the division, including internal controls, policies, and account reconciliations.
•Perform analytical reviews of financial statements and monthly/quarterly subsidiary financial and operational reviews in accordance with GAAP and company guidelines.
•Support M&A activities including closing journal entries, blending balance sheets, and onsite pre-merger inventory; assist with year-end work papers for external auditors.
•Assist with tax returns and coordinate/support sales and use tax audits and property tax audits.
•Train new accountants and subsidiary personnel on back-office functions and accounting software; create reports and support budget preparation.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree preferably in Accounting or Finance.
•Minimum 5-7 years of related work experience; CPA is preferred.
•Strong Microsoft Office skills.
•Demonstrated knowledge of general accounting, financial statements, SOX controls, and overall accounting procedures.
•Ability to work independently and on a team, communicate professionally, and manage priorities and deadlines.
