Key Responsibilities

  • •Deliver the regulatory engagement strategy for the UK, maintaining licensing responsibilities and coordinating with internal and external parties to ensure compliance.
  • •Ensure regulatory compliance and regulatory reporting obligations are maintained across UK Airwallex group entities, including accurate filing of regulatory reports and renewal of registrations/licenses.
  • •Support and/or manage on-site exams, inspections, and audits, interfacing with UK regulators including the FCA.
  • •Advise the business on regulatory change initiatives, focusing on managing compliance risk tied to evolving UK laws and FCA rules.
  • •Support compliance monitoring and training (including targeted/thematic reviews and conduct-related training), and run proactive projects to address business or operational issues.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree with regulatory compliance experience in a financial institution, FinTech, legal/consulting firm, or combination of the above (minimum 4 years for Senior Associate; minimum 6 years for Manager).
  • •Familiarity with UK financial regulatory laws, rules, regulations, and industry best practices in FCA-regulated environments.
  • •Data proficiency with the ability to work with data to support strategic decision-making.
  • •Experience developing and/or maintaining a compliance program within a financial institution, preferably for payments and e-money activity.
  • •Exposure to licensing processes, regulatory reporting, regulatory expansion, and RegTech or technology-driven compliance solutions.
