Key Responsibilities

  • •Monitor incubator/hatcher and egg rooms via hourly temperature/humidity checks, ensure incubation programs start on schedule, and record readings with prompt issue reporting.
  • •Perform hatch preparation tasks including dispensing formaldehyde per schedule, fumigating specified areas, cleaning, setting up, and operating tray washer and high-pressure washer equipment, and disinfecting hatchers/rooms.
  • •Complete egg inventory tasks including taking pedigree egg inventory and pushing egg racks to the egg driver on the scheduled day/time.
  • •Execute additional hatchery duties such as filling nightly checklists, disposing of hatchery waste, cleaning incinerator, monitoring generator operation during power failure, and maintaining sanitary supplies.
  • •Operate and maintain a biosecure environment by following safety and PPE requirements and complying with facility biosecurity/animal welfare guidelines.

Key Requirements

  • •Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no employment gaps greater than 6 months in the past 36 months (18 months if laid off or providing child/elder care).
