Job Summary

Maintain and troubleshoot the BEUMER Individual Carrier System (ICS) at Gerald R. Ford International Airport, performing routine and advanced electrical/mechanical maintenance under the Shift Supervisor. Diagnose faults across mechanical, electrical, and control subsystems, respond to carrier jams and sensor/control errors, and execute resets with root-cause analysis. Use BEUMER High-Level Control (SAC) and PLC systems (Siemens preferred), monitor system health with diagnostics and dashboards, and support upgrades and continuous reliability improvements.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform routine and advanced maintenance on BEUMER ICS components, including elements, diverters, scanners, and third-party interfacing equipment.
•Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control subsystem faults using structured troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
•Respond to system interruptions (carrier jams, sensor faults, control logic errors) by executing resets and analysis.
•Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance per BEUMER and OEM documentation, including inspections and spare part reporting.
•Support system upgrades and updates, including hardware retrofits, and participate in continuous improvement and reliability-centered maintenance activities.

Key Requirements

•Associate degree or technical certification in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
•2–5 years of hands-on experience maintaining automated material handling systems, preferably in airport or logistics environments.
•Must be eligible to obtain and maintain airside security clearance.
•Deep understanding of mechatronic systems (sensors, actuators, motors, and controls) and ability to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
•Proficiency with BEUMER SAC systems, PLC programming (Siemens preferred), and fault diagnostics, including industrial communication protocols (Profinet, CANbus, Fieldbus).
