Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage the Japan Hardlines category team and report to the Director, Hardlines Category Japan.
  • •Identify licensing opportunities and fill market gaps across age groups, segments, markets, channels, and franchises.
  • •Lead contract negotiations with key licensees and ensure brand management and contractual obligations are met throughout agreements.
  • •Manage day-to-day relationships with domestic and global licensees, including conducting business reviews and quarterly forecasting.
  • •Partner with Japan creative and brand/marketing teams to drive quality and innovation in product development and support category plans.

Key Requirements

  • •People management experience, whether managing a group or individuals.
  • •Understanding of brand/property positioning and retail business development, distribution, and the retail environment.
  • •Comprehensive knowledge of licensees' production and creative capabilities/limitations.
  • •Professional working proficiency of Japanese and English.
  • •Ability to adjust to a changing business environment; strong relationship building, communication/presentation, and sales/negotiation skills.
