Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform routine and preventative maintenance and repair mechanical faults on plant equipment.
  • •Use precision measuring devices to verify conformance of machine specifications and set/adjust metalworking machinery.
  • •Operate workshop tools and equipment (e.g., bench grinder, drilling machine, cutter) and operate forklift or overhead crane when required.
  • •Carry out welding, fabrication, dismantling, and reassembly tasks including cutting, threading, bending, and installing hydraulic/pneumatic pipes.
  • •Coordinate with maintenance teams and planners, maintain safety/quality/housekeeping, attend toolbox talks and safety meetings, and help train colleagues and trainees.

Key Requirements

  • •N3 & Trade Tested Qualified Fitter – Red Seal (NQF Level 4).
  • •3–4 years of related experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • •Awareness of HSE and quality standards, including knowledge of PPE and safety equipment.
  • •Practical knowledge of plant equipment in process environments (e.g., pumps, valves, turbines, generators, compressors, and static equipment).
  • •Practical knowledge of mechanical maintenance principles (fitting, precision measurement, machining, and fabrication) and basic rigging principles.
