Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as a trusted advisor to the AB President and Leadership Team, providing proactive legal guidance and managing strategic legal and reputational risks.
  • •Develop and run the global legal strategy and operating model, structure and lead the in-house legal function, and oversee legal budget and external counsel relationships.
  • •Advise on FDA and international regulatory and healthcare compliance for Class III medical devices, partnering with cross-functional teams on product development and post-market activities.
  • •Lead legal strategy for product quality issues, recalls, corrections/removals, field safety notices, and crisis response, including liability exposure management.
  • •Oversee litigation, arbitration, investigations, compliance and ethics program strengthening, AI governance frameworks, and corporate governance/Board support.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 263,000 - 335,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Juris Doctor from an accredited law school with admission in good standing to at least one State Bar; California Bar admission preferred.
  • •20+ years of legal experience across healthcare compliance and transactional matters, with demonstrated MedTech/Life Sciences regulatory understanding.
  • •Strong background as a corporate generalist in healthcare/medical devices/life sciences, covering commercial transactions, regulatory matters, compliance, employment law, litigation, and corporate governance.
  • •Experience leading people and serving as a strategic member of a senior leadership team.
  • •Strong negotiation skills and the judgment to navigate ambiguity under pressure and meet timelines.
