Job Summary

Provide leadership and direction for the EHS function across Applied Materials’ Northern Taiwan operations. Manage and coach EHS engineers, drive field EHS action plans, and ensure compliance with Taiwan OSHA and Applied EHS requirements at customer fabs. Lead investigations using root-cause methodologies (e.g., 8D/HOP), manage corrective actions, generate reports, and partner with corporate/Asia EHS teams and stakeholders to improve EHS KPIs and reduce risks.

•Manage and direct the EHS function and staff, including coaching, mentoring, and supervising EHS engineers.
•Drive EHS programs and field EHS action plans aligned to strategy to minimize risks and improve performance and recognition.
•Communicate EHS issues to management and employees; ensure customer satisfaction through prompt resolution and strong internal/external communication.
•Ensure accident/incident investigations are conducted and corrective/preventive actions are recommended, tracked, and completed.
•Support budget management, special projects, training programs, contractor management, and ensure work complies with Taiwan OSHA and Applied EHS requirements.

Travel: Medium travel

Key Requirements

•Graduate degree or above.
•Strong English skills with TOEIC 780+ (reading/listening) and equivalent speaking/writing.
•8+ years of EHS experience, including 4+ years managing contractors.
•3+ years leading a team; 4+ years of EHS experience in semiconductor/display manufacturing.
•Knowledge of industrial hygiene and hazard controls (exposure assessment, hazard identification, SDS, PPE) and safety topics like mechanical/electrical safety and fire prevention.
