Job Summary

Own and manage a technology portfolio’s budget and funding plan, maintaining a single source of truth for assumptions and phasing. Track actuals vs forecast, burn rate, and cost-to-complete, investigate variances, and drive corrective actions through cost governance and audit-ready documentation. Support investment scenarios with robust cost estimates, deliver executive reporting on funding status and risks, and partner with project/program and finance stakeholders to align funding to delivery milestones.

Key Responsibilities

•Own the portfolio budget/funding plan and maintain a single source of truth for assumptions and phasing.
•Track actuals vs forecast, burn rate, and cost-to-complete; investigate variances and drive corrective actions.
•Run regular portfolio cost governance, including approvals, tolerance checks, and audit-ready documentation.
•Support business cases/investment requests with robust cost estimates and scenarios.
•Produce executive reporting and partner with project/program managers, finance, PMO, and senior stakeholders to align funding with delivery milestones and priorities.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
•Experience in project portfolio financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, in a change/technology delivery environment.
•5+ years’ experience in portfolio/PMO/finance partnering roles supporting multiple projects/programmes with hands-on ownership of budgeting and forecasting.
•Strong Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with reporting tools such as Power BI and PPM tooling such as Clarity/Jira preferred.
•Strong stakeholder management and communication, comfortable challenging assumptions, with a detail-oriented controls mindset and ability to meet deadlines.
