Job Summary

Design and develop optical systems for non-destructive testing products, spanning lens design, optical packaging, prototyping, and validation. Perform optical modeling and analysis (alignment methods, MTF analysis, and FOV optimization), partner with suppliers to optimize for cost and manufacturability, and collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure components meet performance and production needs. Support NPI, investigate emerging optical technologies, and maintain detailed technical documentation and design records.

•Apply engineering best practices and business standards across the optical product development lifecycle.
•Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure optical components are manufacturable and meet performance expectations.
•Partner with suppliers to optimize optical designs for cost, manufacturability, and long-term production consistency.
•Conduct optical modeling and analysis, support NPI into production, investigate emerging optical technologies, and maintain technical documentation.

•Bachelor’s degree in Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
•At least 1 year of experience designing and developing optical products.
•Experience in optical system design.
•Knowledge of optical alignment methods, lens selection, MTF analysis, and FOV optimization.
•Hands-on experience with optical design software such as Code V and/or Zemax, plus CAD tools like SolidWorks.
