Job Summary

System Safety Engineer role focused on driving system-level safety decisions across multiple domains (Air, Maritime, Ground, Space, Counter-UAS, Autonomy). You will perform advanced safety analyses, develop safety requirements, lead hazard investigations, and partner with Reliability, Systems, Hardware and Software teams to deliver mission-ready, safety-compliant products for defense programs.

Key Responsibilities

•Execute System Safety program plans aligned with MIL-STD-882E and program-specific requirements.
•Conduct safety analyses including FHA, Fault Tree Analysis, SCFTA, FMECA, and System Safety Assessments at the system and sub-system level.
•Develop safety requirements and collaborate with design teams to implement safety solutions.
•Identify and document hazards and risks, manage hazard tracking, and ensure proper risk mitigation strategies are in place.
•Support the Design Requirements Process to ensure teams adhere to safety best practices.

Key Requirements

•Minimum of 5 years of industry experience as a System Safety Engineer or equivalent engineering background.
•B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
•Experience with safety-critical hardware and software systems in the defense or aerospace industry.
•Familiarity with MIL-STD-882E and other relevant safety standards.
•Strong background in safety analysis techniques including FTA, FHA, SCFTA, and FMECA.
