Job Summary

Work on highways and local authority infrastructure projects in partnership with National Highways and regional clients, delivering designs and specifications aligned to DMRB standards. Use AutoCAD and Civil3D to develop geometric designs, provide technical input to pricing and deliverables, and check/certify design documentation for issue. As a senior member, coordinate work packages, support project managers, and mentor graduate engineers and technicians across multi-disciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

•Prepare designs and specifications in accordance with DMRB.
•Develop designs using AutoCAD and Civil3D, including geometric design work.
•Deliver design work packages and support moving scope up to managing schemes and multi-disciplinary teams.
•Provide technical input to project briefs, proposals, deliverables and cost estimation; support project managers in planning and programming.
•Check, certify and authorise design documents for issue; manage graduate engineers and technicians and mentor more junior staff.

Key Requirements

•Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent within a highway design role.
•Working towards IEng or CEng status with a professional institute (professional qualifications advantageous).
•Highways design experience in accordance with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB).
•Experience complying with Designers Duties under CDM.
•Experience delivering geometric designs using AutoDesk Civils 3D (advantageous).
