Key Responsibilities

  • •Advise Product and Engineering on privacy-by-design and AI governance across the product lifecycle, including frameworks for AI training data, LLM data use, and model governance.
  • •Own global privacy program operations, including DSAR administration, DPIAs and RoPAs, cross-border transfer mechanisms, and on-call counsel for data incidents and required notifications.
  • •Coordinate telecom and regulatory considerations around call recording and consent as they intersect with product features; route FCC/TCPA/911/USF-related issues appropriately.
  • •Partner with Security and GRC on certifications (ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI, HIPAA) and help design privacy-enhancing controls like redaction, anonymization, and access governance.
  • •Support commercial and operational legal needs, including DPA/BAA negotiations, advising on contract terms, and contributions to records retention, litigation holds, and product/legal enablement resources.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 169,000 - 214,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and a license in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
  • •5–8 years of substantive privacy, product-counseling, and regulatory experience, ideally with law firm technology/privacy practice plus in-house experience at a SaaS/technology company.
  • •Working knowledge of GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and HIPAA, including privacy-by-design and cross-border data transfer mechanisms (e.g., SCCs, UK IDTA, EU-US DPF).
  • •Experience advising Product and Engineering teams directly by translating complex legal requirements into clear, actionable guidance for non-legal audiences.
  • •Familiarity with AI legal frameworks (EU AI Act, US state AI legislation, FTC priorities) and demonstrated interest in deepening expertise as the landscape evolves.
