Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as lead for designing, building, testing, and maintaining scalable, secure data engineering components and platform services for the CMM program.
  • •Develop and implement a scalable cloud-based data platform (data lake/lakehouse/warehouse) supporting operational data, reporting, analytics, and AI/ML enablement.
  • •Engineer auditable data integration patterns and deliver robust ETL/ELT pipelines for near-real-time and batch workloads, including integration into government-provided CI/CD processes.
  • •Provide technical direction and day-to-day oversight to Data Engineers, reviewing designs and ensuring consistent engineering standards across pipelines.
  • •Implement infrastructure as code for provisioning and configuration, and support data migration, archival, failover testing, incident resolution, and audit-ready documentation.

Key Requirements

  • •BS/BA with 9+ years or MA/MS with 7+ years of general information systems experience, plus 7+ years specialized experience, with flexibility for equivalent education/experience.
  • •Experience in data engineering and in designing data architecture, including system security best practices.
  • •Hands-on experience building enterprise-scale data pipelines with strong SQL and Python proficiency and data transformation techniques.
  • •Experience with AWS data and compute services, cloud-based data platforms, and data orchestration tools.
  • •Hands-on experience with data analytics and AI/ML solutions, plus familiarity with ETL/ELT frameworks, streaming/near-real-time ingestion, and data governance/metadata/classification standards.
