Job Summary

Produce electrical building services designs for rail stations and related infrastructure, managing projects from early concept through final completion. Design low-voltage reticulation and distribution (230/400V) including UPS sources, general and emergency lighting, and cable management systems. Use AMTECH, CAD, and Bentley tools (MicroStation/AECOsim) to develop 2D/3D MEP models in a BIM common data environment, while supervising and guiding assistant engineers.

Key Responsibilities

•Design low voltage reticulation and distribution systems (230/400V) including UPS sources.
•Develop general lighting and emergency lighting systems, including lighting types and sources (including LED types).
•Create cable management system designs (trunking, tray, conduits) including sizing calculations and self-checking.
•Present electrical design onto schematic and 2D layout drawings, and model 3D MEP services using Bentley MicroStation and AECOsim (including generating 2D sections from 3D models).
•Work within BIM/common data environment (preferably Bentley projectwise) and supervise/verify work performed by designers/modellers and assistant engineers.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
•8-11 years of working with electrical design.
•Qualifications meeting requirements for chartership with an engineering institution.
•Knowledge of BS7671 and BS5266, including City & Guilds Requirements for Electrical Installations (2382).
•Extensive rail station experience with working knowledge of Network Rail, TfL and LUL standards.
