Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide the full breadth of personal financial counseling services to military service members and families at installations, including one-on-one counseling and referrals.
  • •Develop spending plans for extended absences and provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
  • •Create and make available informational financial materials and coordinate, publicize, and deliver personal financial management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle.
  • •Use virtual counseling/electronic communication (web-based, secure chat, or secure video teleconference) when authorized and supported by the customer.
  • •Coordinate with installation and military branch Points of Contact to ensure program scope, communicate with leadership, and participate in supervision and in-services/training.

  • •Bachelor's degree required (may consider associate degree plus 4 years’ experience, or high school diploma plus 6 years’ experience).
  • •3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • •Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
  • •Must obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
  • •Hold one of: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
