Key Responsibilities

  • •Supervise and mentor paralegals through complex LP transfer processes, ensuring accurate, timely documentation aligned with client playbooks and SLAs.
  • •Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and counterparties, coordinating KYC/AML, transfer documentation, signing, and post-closing actions.
  • •Own and evolve client playbooks and negotiation parameters, escalating material issues to the Legal Director while maintaining deal momentum.
  • •Build and deepen trusted relationships with sophisticated asset manager and investment fund clients and position Carta as the go-to partner for LP transfer work.
  • •Support business development by contributing to new client pitches and partner with the technology team to improve AI-driven legal delivery tools and workflows.

Key Requirements

  • •Strong funds law experience, including LP transfers, closed-ended funds, or private markets work, and ability to manage complex transfer processes independently.
  • •Licensed to practice in England & Wales or a comparable jurisdiction.
  • •Client-focused, commercially minded communication with sophisticated asset manager and investment fund clients, including under pressure.
  • •Experience supervising and developing junior lawyers and paralegals, with capability to manage performance across multiple concurrent workflows.
  • •Detail-driven execution with strong ability to prioritize competing deadlines and maintain deal momentum.
