Job Summary

Design, build, and operate the API platform that exposes foundation model capabilities across the organization. Deliver secure, scalable backend services for production AI use cases, including REST/gRPC APIs, authentication/authorization, policy controls, and reliability features like retries, caching, and fault tolerance. Partner with AI, DevOps, and platform teams to integrate models, implement CI/CD and operational readiness, and ensure strong observability through monitoring, logging, and alerting. Lead reviews and mentor engineers.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and build API services and backend systems that expose foundation model capabilities (e.g., inference, embeddings, orchestration).
•Lead development of secure, scalable, high-performance APIs including versioning, request handling, and service reliability.
•Implement authentication, authorization, and policy controls for secure and compliant model access.
•Ensure performance, scalability, and availability using retries, caching, and fault tolerance.
•Collaborate with DevOps and platform teams on CI/CD pipelines, deployment patterns, operational readiness, observability, and production issue resolution. Mentorship and code reviews are also expected.

Key Requirements

•Strong experience building and deploying production backend systems and APIs.
•Proven ability to lead delivery of software components or services end-to-end.
•Solid expertise in API design (REST and/or gRPC) and service-based architectures.
•Experience working with cloud-native technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
•Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Go, C#, Python, or similar.
