  • •Own architecture for the agent layer and set the technical direction for how it evolves to support the Streams model.
  • •Design scalable systems for the agent layer, evaluate new technologies for performance, and lead architectural discussions to drive decision-making.
  • •Provide technical guidance and support to team members, including code reviews and constructive feedback aligned to engineering best practices and quality standards.
  • •Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, collaborate with product management to prioritize features based on stakeholder input.
  • •Facilitate cross-team collaboration, coordinate efforts, identify and mitigate risks, and adjust project plans as priorities or feedback change.

Key Requirements

  • •Proven experience as a technical lead or principal engineer on agent, daemon, or systems-level software projects at scale, including distributed deployments, versioning, and backward compatibility.
  • •Deep knowledge of observability data collection (metrics, logs, traces) and related protocols such as OTLP, Prometheus Remote Write, and syslog.
  • •Strong background in Go, with familiarity that Elastic Agent and Beats are primarily Go.
  • •Experience designing management and control planes for distributed software, including protocol-driven approaches like OpAMP.
  • •Track record leading large, multi-team technical initiatives from ambiguous design space through shipped software.
