Job Summary

Provide technical expertise to ensure safe facility operations by understanding the approved safety basis and assessing the impact of proposed changes/modifications. Serve as primary support to Operations and Shift Managers, coordinate with support organizations for compliance with authorized work, troubleshoot emerging issues, and evaluate changes against the Documented Safety Analysis via the Unreviewed Safety Question. Deliver technical briefings and provide weekend on-call coverage as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as the primary support team member for the Operations Manager and Shift Manager to ensure daily operations are safe and followed per approved procedures.
•Interface with support organizations to ensure planned facility activities comply with the facility safety basis authorized work.
•Troubleshoot and drive improvement activities for emerging issues to strengthen compliance implementation.
•Coordinate large, cross-cutting facility activities in a project management capacity when needed.
•Evaluate proposed modifications against the Documented Safety Analysis using the Unreviewed Safety Question and provide technical briefings; provide assigned weekend on-call coverage on a rotation.

Key Requirements

•BA/BS degree plus 15–20 years of direct experience, or an MA/MS with 14–18 years of experience.
•Must meet DOE O 426.2A requirements, including baccalaureate in engineering or related scientific major plus specified nuclear experience (or an approved alternative).
•DOE Q Clearance preferred.
•Ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy.
•Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and required pre-placement medical exams (if applicable).
