Job Summary

Repair and maintain construction and mechanical equipment used in operations, including trucks, trailers, bulldozers, excavators, motor graders, engines, motors, pneumatic tools, and conveyor systems. Diagnose problems, perform durable repairs, dismantle devices to replace defective parts, and handle preventative maintenance such as oil changes, lubrication, fluid service, and filter changes. Maintain work areas, order parts and supplies, and complete related documentation/invoicing while following safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Troubleshoot problems and make economical, durable repairs.
•Maintain and repair heavy equipment, trucks, shop equipment, and non-mobile equipment.
•Service vehicles/equipment including oil changes, greasing, adding fluids, changing filters, and preventative maintenance.
•Troubleshoot and repair electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, and drive trains.
•Order parts and supplies and maintain purchase orders and invoices while operating a computer for job functions.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED.
•Preferably 5 years of prior experience as an automotive mechanic, including mechanical maintenance on a variety of equipment.
•Experience with heavy construction equipment such as Komatsu and CAT dozers, excavators, motor graders, water trucks, light-duty vehicles, and small engines.
•Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
•Must have a current and valid driver’s license.
