Key Responsibilities

  • •Review patient files and records to ensure charges match procedures performed.
  • •Code and charge provided services using assigned financial categories and related codes.
  • •Obtain and review claim data and service requirements, ensuring codes follow legal and insurance rules and required authorizations/signatures are in place.
  • •Coordinate with Approval and Patient Accounts and with healthcare professionals/providers to support approvals and timely insurance submissions.
  • •Double-check charges against medical file entries and billing sheets, ensure billing documents are completed/validated, and complete discharge encoder flow sheets for review; respond politely to patient/visitor inquiries and maintain confidentiality.

Key Requirements

  • •Diploma/college graduate in general administration or a related field.
  • •Minimum two (2) years of experience in a similar position, preferably in a healthcare facility.
  • •Customer service course/experience is required.
  • •Tact, courtesy, and public relations skills are required.
  • •Good communication, interpersonal skills, and computer literacy are required.
