Job Summary

Lead piping engineering for Australia mining infrastructure projects (materials handling infrastructure), designing piping systems and components and reviewing layout deliverables such as isometrics and bills of materials. Ensure compliance with project specifications and engineering standards (including ASME codes), manage technical evaluations and vendor RFQs, and support interfacing across engineering and construction teams. Work in a collaborative setting across multiple project stakeholders, providing status updates and quality-focused deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and develop piping systems and components; review piping layout drawings including isometrics and bills of materials.
•Review design specifications and manage vendor management, technical evaluations, and compliance for piping items.
•Perform engineering tasks including pipe wall thickness calculations, branch chart calculations, and preparation/review of piping support structures.
•Prepare valve material specifications and datasheets for piping special items; prepare RFQs for piping bulk and specialty items.
•Develop inspection and testing plans (ITPs) for tanks and vessels, including hydrostatic and non-destructive testing (NDT), and provide work status updates and risk concerns.

Key Requirements

•13-17 years of experience in piping, static, and rotary equipment engineering.
•Minimum bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (master’s preferred).
•In-depth knowledge of piping design codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, and ASME B31.8.
•Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills with attention to detail.
•Experience working in a LEAN environment; experience with projects in Australia or New Zealand is an advantage.
