Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and deliver high-quality flood modelling and hydrology projects under general supervision, including development and checking of hydraulic models.
  • •Mentor junior staff and guide professional development within the team while engaging with local authorities, water companies, and public/private sector clients.
  • •Lead and contribute to tenders for single projects and multi-million pound framework contracts, ensuring alignment with programmes and budgets.
  • •Build and maintain relationships with clients and cross-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated flood risk management solutions.
  • •Stay up-to-date with legislation and guidelines affecting flood modelling and water quality assessments, and contribute to project management systems and client communications.

Key Requirements

  • •Significant experience in hydraulic and water quality modelling software (e.g., Mike, ICM, SIMCAT, Flood Modeller, and/or TUFLOW).
  • •Knowledge of Environment Agency requirements for flood models used in flood risk assessments.
  • •Basic understanding of physico-chemical water quality and associated regulatory standards for fresh waters.
  • •Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • •Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or related discipline; near/obtained CIWEM or similar qualification.
