Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide the full breadth of personal financial counseling services to service members and their families at assigned military installations.
  • •Conduct one-on-one counseling, consultations, briefings/presentations, and provide referral resources outside counseling sessions.
  • •Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences and develop informational financial materials for service members and families.
  • •Coordinate, publicize, and provide personal financial management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle (e.g., pre-/post-deployment, arrival at first duty station).
  • •Work with installation leadership and Points of Contact to ensure the program is within scope, manage duty to warn situations, and participate in supervision and training/quality activities.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree required; may consider associate degree plus 4 years of experience, or high school plus 6 years of experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • •3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • •Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
  • •If required by contract, must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • •Must have one of: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
