Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide adult and/or child and youth behavioral (CYB) MFLC counseling services at military installations and schools, including assessment, brief counseling, consultation, action planning, referrals, and follow-up.
  • •Deliver training and health/wellness presentations and participate in health fairs and base/installation activities.
  • •Support CDCs, DoDEA schools, community schools, youth programs, and summer camps, including parent training and guidance (for CYB roles).
  • •Enter counselor activity data daily via smartphone or web application while ensuring accurate reporting and confidentiality/anonymity.
  • •Coordinate with installation and military POCs/Regional Supervisors, participate in supervision and in-services/QI activities, and respond to critical incidents/special requests as directed.

Key Requirements

  • •Master’s degree in a mental health-related field or social work from an accredited graduate program.
  • •Current independent-level licensure as a Social Worker (LCSW), Therapist (LMFT), or Mental Health Counselor (LPC/LCHMC), meeting state/commonwealth/customer requirements.
  • •Must be local to Camp Lejeune, Camp Geiger, MCAS New River, MCAS Cherry Point, Fort Bragg, or Seymour Johnson AFB, or be willing to relocate to become local.
  • •Advanced knowledge of brief therapy and solution-focused counseling methods.
  • •Ability to prove US citizenship and must be fluent in English.
