Job Summary

Perform a variety of duties on construction and/or paving projects in a utility capacity, transferring between tasks as demand requires. Maintain a safe work environment by complying with safety policies and OSHA/MSHA requirements, using appropriate tools and PPE, and reporting issues to supervisors. Assist construction/paving crews with tasks such as shoveling, raking, running wheelbarrows, signaling equipment operators, moving/dismantling traffic control devices, and leveling materials.

Key Responsibilities

•Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with safety policies and procedures using appropriate tools and equipment.
•Properly follow company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations and report problems to the appropriate leaders.
•Assist construction/paving crews with duties such as shoveling and raking, running a wheelbarrow, and safely backing/dumping trucks into a paver.
•Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and materials with shovel.
•Digs, spreads, and levels construction materials; lifts, carries, and holds materials, tools, and supplies; assists with placement and dismantling of signs and traffic control devices.

Key Requirements

•Follow company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and report problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager.
•Assist construction/paving crew duties including shoveling and raking, running a wheelbarrow, and safely backing/dumping trucks into a paver.
•Previous related experience in the construction field.
•High school diploma or GED is preferred, and must be 18 years or older; must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and criminal background check.
