Job Summary

Seeking a highly experienced Structural Steel Inspector (CWI/NDT) in San Diego, CA to inspect welding, fabrication and erection of structural steel, ensuring QA/QC with AWS D1.1, MT and UT per NDT standards, and coordinating with owners, fabricators and engineers on projects in Southern California.

Job Function: Executive & General Management

Key Responsibilities

•Inspect welding, steel fabrication, and steel erection; monitor compliance with approved shop drawings, standards, and specifications.
•Inspect and evaluate corroded and/or damaged steel members and inspect repair welding and coatings.
•Review submittals (welding plans, WPS, WPQR, Welder Certification, shop drawings, quality control reports) for project requirements.
•Write daily shop/field reports in digital format and communicate with owners, fabricators, engineers, and other CWIs/NDT technicians.
•Participate in safety meetings and support QA/QC during fabrication.

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma.
•Minimum of 7 years of relevant post education experience in the discipline.
•AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
•ASNT NDT Level II certification in UT and MT.
•Experience performing QA/QC during structural steel fabrication.
