Job Summary

Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy construction equipment used in aggregate, asphalt, construction, and paving operations. Travel to job sites for preventative maintenance and emergency field repairs to keep equipment safe, reliable, and operational. Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues, perform major component repairs, complete maintenance documentation, and follow DOT/OSHA/MSHA safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

•Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues on heavy construction equipment.
•Perform preventative maintenance on equipment such as excavators, loaders, skid steers, dozers, crushers, conveyors, and asphalt paving equipment.
•Conduct equipment inspections to identify deficiencies before failures occur.
•Repair and replace major systems including engines, transmissions, hydraulic components, and braking systems.
•Complete service reports, inspection records, work orders, and maintenance documentation; maintain tools and service vehicles and follow DOT/OSHA/MSHA safety procedures.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED.
•Minimum 2 years of experience repairing heavy construction, aggregate, mining, or paving equipment.
•Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and powertrain components.
•Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and hydraulic diagrams.
•Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, with ability to work independently and use basic computer tools for diagnostics and maintenance reporting.
