Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
  • •Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical/brake/cooling systems, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines (gas/diesel), transmissions, clutches, differentials, and air conditioning systems.
  • •Inspect, test, and evaluate defective equipment using test instruments (handheld computers and pressure gauges), and road test vehicles to confirm proper operation.
  • •Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on a company-issued service truck, including periodic reconciliation and sourcing parts from approved vendors as needed.
  • •Document work and DOT forms according to company standards, upload photos and findings on Repair Orders (RO), maintain safety compliance and perform pre-/post-trip inspections of the service vehicle.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (or an alternate combination such as 5 years’ experience).
  • •Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
  • •Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months.
  • •Complete and pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical (or submit a DOT medical card with more than four months remaining).
  • •Be at least 21 years or older and hold a valid state-of-residence driver’s license with ability to obtain/maintain a Driver Qualification File.
