Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop procurement strategies for construction services (general contracting, MEP/FP, civil, structural, architectural, specialty trades) and related capital equipment.
  • •Lead bid package creation and competitive bidding processes (RFIs, RFPs, RFQs), including prequalification, pre-bid meetings, site visits, bid evaluations, and award recommendations.
  • •Review and validate engineering designs, construction drawings, scopes of work, and specifications for compliance, codes, and constructability.
  • •Perform market analysis and develop should-cost models; conduct quantitative/business process analyses to identify financial impacts and cost improvement.
  • •Create, negotiate, and administer construction contracts and purchase orders; manage change orders/claims/closeout, evaluate proposals, and manage contractor/vendor relationships and KPIs from bid through warranty/turnover.

Key Requirements

  • •Advanced degree with 3+ years of experience, or bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in engineering, purchasing, contract negotiation, operations/supply chain management, or construction/facilities/industrial plant management.
  • •Strong civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection technical background and business background for contracts and negotiations.
  • •Experience working with a general contractor, MEP contractor, or construction services provider.
  • •Familiarity with construction industry standards and codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, NEC, IBC, OSHA) and delivery methods (design-bid-build, CMAR, design-build).
  • •Must be able to travel up to 50% of the work week and work extended hours/weekends as needed; this role is based in Cape Canaveral, FL and requires being onsite.
