Key Responsibilities

  • •Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux-based HPC infrastructure including compute nodes, login nodes, storage systems, and supporting services.
  • •Deploy, configure, monitor, and manage lifecycle of HPC hardware, operating systems, and core infrastructure components.
  • •Assist with datacenter activities during deployments and upgrades including hardware configuration, cabling, component replacement, and system validation.
  • •Monitor system health, investigate performance issues, and help ensure reliability, availability, and security of shared HPC resources.
  • •Support researchers with scientific workflows by installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing scientific software applications (including CryoEM) and improving workflow performance on shared resources.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, scientific computing, bioinformatics, or a related field with at least 5 years of related experience.
  • •8+ years of related experience.
  • •Experience working in Linux-based HPC or research computing environments.
  • •Experience installing and supporting scientific software, compilers, and libraries; familiarity with Slurm schedulers.
  • •Scripting experience in Bash or Python and familiarity with tools like Spack or EasyBuild; container experience (Apptainer/Singularity) is a plus.
