Job Summary

Design and develop custom mechanical tooling, mechanisms, and system components for semiconductor and display manufacturing equipment. Lead system design from concept through production, modify layouts/specifications, and coordinate manufacturing, installation, and procurement of critical parts and subsystems. Drive NPI and prototype build/qualification, conduct analysis and reliability testing, troubleshoot difficult issues, and ensure designs meet market and industry safety standards while supporting system integration and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, develop, and modify mechanical engineering layouts, schematics, and specifications for assemblies and sub-systems across the product life cycle.
•Drive system design from concept to production, including Linear mechanisms, platform enclosures, system packaging, and NPI program execution.
•Oversee manufacturing and installation processes, ensuring adherence to industry standards and coordinating procurement and assembly of mechanical components and equipment.
•Build and qualify prototypes (or procure subsystems) and perform detailed engineering analysis, troubleshooting, and reliability testing to meet specification requirements.
•Provide technical leadership for tool safety standards (SEMI/NFPA/EMI/EMC/CE) and support system integration and field support for new product designs.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering.
•12–15+ years of mechanical engineering experience (15–20+ years mentioned for the role).
•Knowledge of system engineering for optical and metrology systems, motion mechanics, high-precision motion stages, and stage subsystems.
•Structural FEA expertise and proficiency with first-order mechanical engineering calculations for predictable performance.
•Strong CAD skills with in-depth knowledge of 3D CAD tools (e.g., Inventor) and 2D CAD drawing tools (e.g., Nx, AutoCAD), plus familiarity with semiconductor capital equipment and relevant standards.
