Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and analyze propulsion systems, including engines, motors, pumps and related fluidic/thermal management components to achieve optimal performance and efficiency.
  • •Develop high-performance mechanical components and subsystems (gearboxes, actuators, mechanisms) to meet stringent performance, reliability and mass targets in extreme environments.
  • •Conduct advanced thermo-fluid and structural analyses (CFD, FEA, thermodynamic modeling) to predict and validate system behavior.
  • •Prototype, test, validate propulsion components and prototypes, develop test plans, execute experiments and perform root cause analyses to refine designs.
  • •Integrate propulsion components with systems, electrical, software and manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability, maintainability and scalability.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 5+ years of hands-on propulsion design/analysis experience.
  • •Experience in propulsion system design, analysis (thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, turbomachinery) and testing of propulsion systems (e.g., electric motors, internal combustion engines, jet engines, rocket engines).
  • •Proficiency in CFD/FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM; ANSYS, Nastran) and multi-physics simulations.
  • •Proficient mechanical CAD skills (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX) with GD&T, materials selection, and manufacturing processes knowledge for high-performance components.
  • •Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
