Key Responsibilities

  • •Establish safety tools and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency for production process planning and optimization.
  • •Perform risk assessments on complex industrial machinery; design functional safety systems (SIS, SIL) and review safety code.
  • •Conduct PFMEAs to uphold safe manufacturing processes.
  • •Analyze tooling and ground support equipment (GSE) for appropriate safety and load factors.
  • •Provide safety design guidance on high pressure systems, attend test readiness reviews, and serve as the department’s Laser Safety Officer (LSO).

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, materials, manufacturing, chemical, electrical engineering, or another STEM field.
  • •1+ years in a manufacturing, quality, and/or design engineering role (student projects or internships qualify).
  • •Ability to establish safety tools and procedures for production process planning and optimization.
  • •Experience performing risk assessments and designing functional safety systems (SIS/SIL) and reviewing safety code.
  • •Knowledge of PFMEAs and safe manufacturing practices.
