Job Summary

Architect and develop core avionics software components, libraries, and tooling for safety-critical, certifiable platforms. Lead technical direction across development and verification for DO-178 objectives, including decomposition, traceability, and certification artifacts such as DAL-A deliverables. Partner with cross-functional engineering, program leadership, customers, and regulatory authorities to deliver robust solutions that meet civil and military certification standards. Contribute through peer reviews and may travel domestically/internationally under 10%.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and design core software components, libraries, and tooling aligned to avionics system requirements.
•Provide technical direction across development and verification activities for safety-critical software (DO-178).
•Develop software requirements, decomposition, and traceability across complex systems.
•Develop and verify software using modern C++ and object-oriented design principles.
•Create and support DO-178 certification artifacts (including DAL-A deliverables) and contribute to certification efforts with customers and regulatory authorities.

Key Requirements

•Typically requires a STEM degree and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree with minimum 3 years of experience.
•U.S. citizenship is required (only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under the program/contract).
•Proven experience designing and developing software architecture, libraries, or platform-level components in an aerospace or safety-critical environment.
•Demonstrated ability to lead technical execution, including customer engagement and presenting stakeholders.
•Hands-on experience supporting safety-critical airborne software development and certification activities (requirements, verification, or certification artifacts).
