Key Responsibilities

  • •Supervise and perform high potential cable testing to 230 KV, perform megger tests to determine faulted phases and assist phasing of energized conductors to 35 KV
  • •Install, repair and maintain all HV transmission/distribution cables (solid dielectric, PILCA, LPOF, submarine) and conducts required testing to meet standards
  • •Locate cable or equipment faults and operating irregularities by diagnostic tests, measurements and analysis to determine repairs or modifications
  • •Track discrepancies, maintain a technical library, and audit equipment; record cable routes, IDs, specs, conditions, test results and fixes
  • •Acquire clearances, perform switching, receive work permits and restore equipment to service; manage timely work in field

Key Requirements

  • •Diploma/industrial degree in electrical field; B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
  • •12 years of experience including at least 10 years in power system construction, commissioning, maintenance and operation with emphasis on transmission and distribution
  • •Certifications such as Basic Life Support/FA, Fire Protection, Work Permit Receiver, cable splicing & potential test are preferred
  • •Thorough knowledge of equipment and underground cable safety requirements and U.S. & Saudi Electrical Codes
  • •Ability to understand work orders, permits, vendors’ manuals, and schematic diagrams and to communicate with fellow workers on technical aspects of the job
