Key Responsibilities

•Supervise and perform high potential cable testing to 230 KV, perform megger tests to determine faulted phases and assist phasing of energized conductors to 35 KV
•Install, repair and maintain all HV transmission/distribution cables (solid dielectric, PILCA, LPOF, submarine) and conducts required testing to meet standards
•Locate cable or equipment faults and operating irregularities by diagnostic tests, measurements and analysis to determine repairs or modifications
•Track discrepancies, maintain a technical library, and audit equipment; record cable routes, IDs, specs, conditions, test results and fixes
•Acquire clearances, perform switching, receive work permits and restore equipment to service; manage timely work in field

Key Requirements

•Diploma/industrial degree in electrical field; B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
•12 years of experience including at least 10 years in power system construction, commissioning, maintenance and operation with emphasis on transmission and distribution
•Certifications such as Basic Life Support/FA, Fire Protection, Work Permit Receiver, cable splicing & potential test are preferred
•Thorough knowledge of equipment and underground cable safety requirements and U.S. & Saudi Electrical Codes
•Ability to understand work orders, permits, vendors’ manuals, and schematic diagrams and to communicate with fellow workers on technical aspects of the job
