Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide technical advice to Member States on cancer prevention and control for national implementation of comprehensive childhood cancer responses.
  • •Draft, revise, and develop national cancer control programmes and plans aligned with national NCD prevention and control plans.
  • •Assess the regional situation of childhood cancer control infrastructure, policies, and plans using desk reviews and exchanges with experts and Member States.
  • •Set up and coordinate information-exchange networks to adapt and disseminate WHO normative guidance and tools for childhood cancer control.
  • •Support national capacity building for WHO childhood cancer initiatives through workshops, country experience exchange, tool/guidance dissemination, and partner engagement; mentor consultants as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •University degree in Medicine, public health, or related areas directly relevant to cancer control.
  • •At least five years of relevant experience with international exposure in medicine and public health practice, including cancer control in low- and middle-income countries.
  • •Experience developing or supporting cancer control programmes, plans, and national implementation efforts in EMR or similar contexts.
  • •Demonstrated technical and programmatic knowledge of NCD prevention and management, including cancer.
  • •Expert knowledge of English; intermediate French and intermediate Arabic are desirable.
